Natural ventilation assessment is carried out using CFD modelling to provide estimates of natural ventilation characteristics (air changes/hour) in the topsides.
The purpose of dispersion analysis is to model the dispersion of hydrocarbon and smoke clouds arising from the accidental leaks on installation and to assess the flammable gas and smoke concentration contours with regard to the safe working environment for the personnel on the installation.
Ventilation and dispersion CFD studies are normally carried out as a part of Safety Studies.
Typical scope of work and deliverables include:
- Natural ventilation analysis,
and dispersion analysis such as:
- Gas dispersion
- Smoke dispersion, and
- Exhaust dispersion.
